NOTE: Unlike other MFI products for the GSG / ATI / Blue Line Solutions / MP40 this one requires a qualified Gunsmith to install it. I will be adding photos and videos as to tips for the Gunsmith to assure as easy a replacement as possible.

First of all lets talk about firearms safeties. I am guessing that in Germany where these are made they require a safety that impinges the sear and or hammer. I say this as the gun now has 2 safeties and the original WWII style with the bolt handle locked in the rear-most position is far superior to this rather questionable safety that they made out of cast pot metal none-the-less.

Additionally firearms safety is all about your trigger and your brain and not some mechanical device. This train of thought appears in current modern conceal and care handguns, where 80% have no safety at all. Many of us carry our autos with the slide locked back and safety off, much like you would the MP40 during WWII.

The new MFI Safety is made from weapons grade steel so it is far stronger and will last longer than the original. I made it as an exact copy of all the 7 - MP40s at my disposal, all of which are original and date from 1941 to 1943. All, but one are bnz manufacture. Regardless of year and manufacturer, they are all the same in appearance.

The hole on two sides is a simulation of the original, which is a drive pin / older style roll pin that keeps the original (take-down knob)from coming off. I positioned the holes to be visible like on the originals when the weapon's safety is in the "FIRE" position. This position can be confirmed without looking just be felling for the holes.

When rotated to the "SAFE" position all you see of feel are the knurls. These knurls are an exact copy in pattern, direction and depth to the original as well. If you turn the weapon upside down you will find 2 WWII waffenamts, these are to signify the "SAFE" position, so if they face sideways the weapon is in the "SAFE" mode. If front to back then in the "FIRE" mode. These waffenamts are copies of the bnz stamps "WaA 623".

The Original GSG MP40 Problem:

The Safety that comes with your GSG & MBlue Line Solutions MP40 takes the place of the original WWII Take-Down knob that releases the upper from the lower on the original SMG. They also made the knob a unique shape, which is completely wrong for anything WWII and certainly incorrect for the MP40. This has been a glaring eye sore as you know from countless forums. FINALLY we have a real solution.

The New MFI MP40 Period Correct Safety is a direct copy of the original from WWII in it's construction (the lower section) and it's external appearance. I copied exactly the top stem so it works exactly as the GSG / ATI safety.

MFI MP40 Safety cannot be removed or installed unless you take the entire lower section apart... meaning you split the two halves.
