Period Correct MP40 Muzzle Nut / Thread Protector (Early Fine Groove Style):

This will NOT fit a real WWII MP40.

This will NOT fit the GSG .22 LR.

This is a similar style to the more coarse version other manufacturers are doing.

The fine groove is much harder to produce and is what most of the surviving MP40s from WWII have on them.

This item is Plug and Play with the correct GSG / ATI 13mm X 1.0 Pitch RH thread. I made these deliberately longer than the originals as the GSG thread is slightly longer than the original WWII MP-40, thus you do not need the odd spacer between the front sight and the muzzle nut / thread protector / barrel nut for the GSG MP-40. I also do NOT cut notches in the rear to mate with the AK47 style detent found on the GSG MP 40. The detent is NOT needed as the tension between the nut and face of the front sight is enough to hold it in place. You can however mark where the detent area would be and cut / file a slot to allow the detent to work.
