When the Troy Team set out to create the PRM Scope Mount Assembly" the objective was simple. They were going to design" engineer" and manufacture the finest available mounting platform in the world. Their primary considerations were precision tolerances" ruggedness" snag free" lightest weight without compromising performance and repeatability. The scope mount starts as 6 pounds of aluminum and fully machine the exterior profile of the mount. The mount is then fixtured in the EDM for a perfect 0 tolerance bore through the rings (which are serial numbered to match the base) and perfect M1913 dove tail dimensioning centering the scope bore perfectly above the rail at 1.5". In the same EDM process the ring caps are sliced off the rings creating a perfect interface and even clamping of the scope. The entrance and exit of each ring is precision chamfered to prevent ring bite on the scope tube. The rings have threaded Stainless Steel inserts from beneath to receive the ring cap screws. The hardware for the scope mount assembly is fully machined from precision ground stainless steel. The mount features four recoil lugs to include the flat precision machined cross bolts. The bolts are inserted" and press fit from right to left. The 1/2" nuts that retain the clamps are engineered to pull against the full body of the clamp via the shoulder with only half of the protrusion of a normal scope ring nut without sacrificing thread count. This was also engineered to be low profile and snag free. Due to the low-profile clamping nuts" there is no interference with ejection of spent cartridges. The cross bolts are peened to prevent accidental loss of the retention nuts. The scope mount is clearly marked with torque setting and identifier of mount size" MOA slant and serial number. The 30mm Mount comes in under 7 ounces.
